* Kashkul ou Sebille de derviche

India, probably Deccan, 17th century In chased red copper, embellished with two dragon heads in bearing rings. The body is decorated with poetic inscriptions in "nasta'liq" script and with interlacing vegetal and two-lobed fleurons. Condition: Oxidation and very slight denting. Size: 16 x 29 cm. Inscriptions : Ghazal by the poet Hafiz (d.1390) : 'aqibat khayr bad / Que la fin soit belle / May the ending be good. Provenance: This lot is sold as a temporary import. A Deccani chiselled copper begging bowl or kashkul, with persian poetic verses by Hafiz, India, 17th century
