Tapis Abadeh Iran In polychrome wool with tapestry decoration of plants enclosed in a triple floral band. 185 x 122 cm Originally, Abadeh carpets featured a vase motif and relatively dull colors. To renew their motifs, the weavers drew inspiration from the ghashghaï nomads who summer pasture in the region. The carpets then took on a reddish-brown hue combined with blue, and medallions on the central field and corners. An Abadeh rug, Southwest Persia.
