China for the Persian market, 19th century decorated with gilded garlands and medallions inscribed in Persian. Condition: chips, cracks and one broken glued, especially the bowls Dimensions: bowls 10 x 23; 11 x 26 cm. Eight plates (4 small and 4 large): D. 20 and 25 cm These bowls were used for banquets, as the inscriptions praising their beauty indicate. A favorite subject in Persian poetry, the mythical Jamshid cup is associated with the success of the Persian Empire.
