Félix BRACQUEMOND (1833-1914), drawing of : Pitcher and sugar bowl of a serving piece known as a water glass, in green glass with aventurine speckles and pressed molding. Hot-molded handles and drops. Made by Cristallerie de Sèvres for Haviland & Co., publisher, circa 1878. Embossed H&Co mark under the base of the sugar bowl, not visible on the pitcher. H. 17 and 14 cm. A few chips inside the lip of the sugar bowl. While Bracquemond's model in translucent glass is well documented (Musée du Petit Palais among others...), the use of opaque aventurine glass is apparently exceptional and perhaps even unique.
