Bertrand LEFEBVRE (born 1983), known as BLEFEB. "US flag" (American flag). Acrylic and collage on wood panels and cleats featuring a patchwork American flag with an excerpt from the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution, which allows any American citizen to refuse to testify against himself in a criminal case. Signed, titled and dated on reverse. Signed, titled and dated 2016 on reverse (Dim.: 52.5 x 96 cm). Provenance: acquired from the artist. Bertrand Lefebvre was born in Laon, Picardy, in 1983. His artistic training began in 2000 at the Saint-Luc artistic secondary school in Tournai, then continued at the Tournai Academy of Fine Arts. He then joined the navy as a photographer and naval painter. He finally resigned and, by a stroke of luck/genius, obtained a position as "Professor of Travel Journals" at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. At the same time, he opened his own art gallery, where he teaches drawing classes. Today, he exhibits his work in several galleries. In 2020, the Maison des Arts et Loisirs (MAL) in Laon welcomed him for the "Orage d'acier" exhibition.
