Very fine antique stuccoed oak frame, relacquered and gilded. Sight size 70 x 113 cm; oak frame 115 x 153 cm. E. Prouvost was a painter born and died in Roubaix. He took part in local artistic life as a member of several artistic juries (Société photographique du Nord, 1911 Roubaix Universal Exhibition). The Musée de La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent in Roubaix conserves an important triptych depicting a Flemish seaside town.
