A Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted, mahogany and satinwood vitrine, attributed to François Linke This showcase belongs to a series produced by the famous cabinetmaker François Linke (1855-1946) at the end of the 19th century. Christofle designed the bronze bas-relief for the central door, representing the Muse de la Poésie Erato, and exhibited it at the 1878 Paris Exposition Universelle. This bronze model became very popular and was used by many of the great cabinetmakers working in Paris at the end of the 19th century.
