A pair of Louis XVI style gilt-bronze three-light candelabra, after Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1789) The design of these candelabras evokes the work of Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1791). Delafosse played a major role in defining the Louis XVI style, notably through the distribution of his engraved collections. A pair of candelabra of the same model, although period, was bequeathed by John Jones to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in 1882 (INV. 985-1982), where it remains to this day (cfr. H.
