40. Henri de TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901) Sylvain Menu. 1896 Lithograph on vellum used to illustrate a menu. Very rare proof from an edition with a small number of copies. The menu text for the December 2, 1896 dinner is handwritten in ink. The artist's monogram can be found on the body of the little elephant in the lower left-hand corner. probably given by Paul Guibert, brother of photographer Maurice Guibert. Cut sheet: 24.4 x 21.3cm. Subject: 21 x 19.8cm (Wittrock 171, Delteil 198). (The print is yellowed, pasted on cardboard with a trace of and two horizontal breaks, small breaks in the corners small breaks in the corners, pinholes at the top. Frame).
