Müller, no year 1870, title page and 23 (of 24) colour lithograph plates with mounted illustrations of plants with genre scenes, German and Latin inscriptions, in original four-wing linen portfolio, this with gold and black embossing on the cover, format 4°, signs of age, portfolio with traces of use.

POIRET (J. L. M.) & TURPIN (P. J. F.). Leçons de flore. Complete course in botany. Explanation of all systems, introduction to the study of plants. Followed by a plant iconography. Paris, Panckoucke, 1819-1820. 3 vol. in-8, marbled basane, richly decorated smooth spines, gilt lace framing the covers, gilt roulette on the edges. The illustration consists of a table of the organic kingdom, a large plate, folded several times, showing plant organography, and 64 hors-texte plates of plants finely colored at the time, drawn by Turpin and engraved by Massard (including 8 bis). First edition of this famous work with superb plates by Pierre-Jean-François Turpin, considered one of the great botanical illustrators of the Napoleonic era, who collaborated on works by Duhamel du Monceau, Alexander von Humboldt and Benjamin Delessert. A very fine copy.
