ANTONIO CASERO SANZ (Madrid, 1898 - 1973). "Transfer of the bulls". Watercolor in the form of a fan country. Signed in the lower right corner. It does not preserve the glass. The frame has some lack. Measurements: 13 x 34 cm; 28 x 47 cm (frame). Disciple of Ricardo Marín, Casero studied in the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where he had as main teacher the engraver Carlos Verger. At the age of eighteen he enters by opposition in the City Council of Madrid, being assigned to the Municipal Museum. Specializing in bullfighting, he made numerous posters for the main Spanish fairs, particularly in his hometown. He also collaborated as an illustrator with various publications of his time, held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. He also participated in artistic competitions such as the Salón de Otoño de Madrid, where he obtained a Diploma of Honor, and those of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, of which he was a member. An excellent watercolorist and draftsman, in his works he vividly captured the authentic breath of the fiesta, as in his famous "Una vara" (1939), where with a loose and agile stroke, and from a chromatic conception of a poster artist, he describes with almost archeological criteria a puya executed with all the orthodoxy and purity possible, while the master and the peones are at the ready. He was a collaborator of "ABC" and "Blanco y Negro", beginning his graphic activity with "El Heraldo de Madrid". In 1955 he founded the Velázquez Group, together with Cruz Herrera, García Carrillero, Huetos, Pinero, García Vázquez, Pérez Gil, Valenciano and Izquierdo Vivas, a group that exhibited for the first time in 1957 at the Salón Dardo in Madrid.
