Pierre Charles TREMOLIERES (Cholet 1703 - 1739 Paris) after Tasting apples. Oil on panel. Signed lower right and dated 1719. 22 x 14.5 cm. Wear, craquelure, part of the frame to be refixed. A pencil drawing on blue paper depicting the same subject, entitled "Garçon debout mangeant une pomme" ("Standing boy eating an apple"), was made by Trémolières in 1738; now in the Albertina Museum, Vienna, inv. no. 12104. This painting is also mentioned in the sales catalog dated Tuesday December 9, 1788 from the collection of Marquis Anne-Pierre de Montesquiou-Fezensac (1739-1798), p. 81, lot 228.
