A beautiful and extremely rare steel diver's watch, transitional model, graduated rotating bezel, decompression valve, black "stardust" dial marked COMEX, luminous hands and hour markers, date at 3 o'clock. Screw-down crown and caseback engraved with COMEX diver number 3153, self-winding mechanical movement calibre 3035. Steel bracelet Oyster 93160A with folding clasp. Delivered absolutely complete, with box, case, document holder, extension, anchor, original bezel, tool, dive tables and original warranty stamped with country code 119. The watch is accompanied by numerous documents tracing the career of the diver, Jacques G. The watch is in very good condition after such a career, with a beautiful dial with a uniform "stardust" patina and micro-scratches from use throughout, but no deep dents. Produced for ten years from 1978 and simultaneously with the Sea-Dweller 1665 for almost 5 years, the "Triple Six" is a transitional reference between its predecessor and the 16660, bringing among other evolutions a new caliber with quick date and greater water resistance with the use of sapphire crystal. Jacques G was a diving instructor at EPAT, the French army's parachute diving school. The mission of this army corps is to assist AMX30 and AMX10 tanks in crossing rivers and, if necessary, to rescue tank crews in peril during these perilous crossings. Contacted by SNETI (Syndicat National des Travaux Immergés) while still at EPAT, Jacques G first joined SOGETRAM (Société Générale de Travaux Maritimes), holder in November 1963 of the world record for the first dive to a depth of -100m. At the time, SOGETRAM was the largest company in France in terms of the number of divers it employed.
