With its chamfers still clearly visible, our watch is in excellent overall working condition, the dial flawless, with a later "luminous" pastille on the insert. Reference 1680, produced some ten years between 1970 and 1980, is the first Submariner with a date function. For the first time on a Submariner, a cyclops lens is glued to the outside of the acrylic glass to facilitate date reading. The charm of the dial's "painted" hour-markers contributes fully to this reference's aura among vintage enthusiasts.
