A superb elliptical-shaped evening watch in white gold, diamond-set bezel, exceptional radiant electric blue dial, applied hour-markers and gold baton hands. White rhodium-plated calibre 23-300 mechanical hand-wound movement, Geneva hallmark, Geneva wave decoration. Long original integrated bracelet in white gold with scale pattern and 3-position adjustable buckle. Our working watch is in very good overall condition, with a very fine relief of the Calatrava Cross on the buckle. Its dial, in excellent, flawless condition, is rare and superb in this spectacular electric blue color. The watch made its grand appearance in 1968, and has gone through a multitude of variations and sizes over its more than 50-year life to date. With over 60 references during its history, it is the most enduring Patek Philippe collection after the Calatrava. Its design is inspired by the principle of the ancient "golden ratio", that "divine proportion" (based on the magnitude ratio 1/1.6181) discovered by Greek mathematicians.
