A CHINESE PORCELAIN-INSPIRED QAJAR BLUE AND WHITE POTTERY BOTTLE PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTION Iran, late 18th - 19th century Of typical compressed pyriform shape, resting on a splayed circular foot, rising to a tall tapering neck with a wide everted rim and bulging ring underneath it, painted in cobalt blue on an off-white ground, a decorative frieze of geometric fretwork embellishing the foot, a Chinese 'ru' cloudbands around the base, shoulders and ring on the neck, the body decorated with Chinese-inspired figures in a garden, holding different vessels and admiring the nature surrounding them, one of the gentlemen holding a bottle similarly shaped to the present lot creating almost a trompe l'oeil effect, the neck featuring two slender vegetal stems and birds perched on their branches, 36.5cm high.
