A CARVED GREY SCHIST DECORATIVE PANEL WITH ARABESQUE AND FLOWERS Possibly Timurid Iran or Transoxiana, Central Asia, mid-15th - early 16th century Carved in the shape of a lobed palmette cartouche in-filled with an elaborate, double-spread arabesque motif with stylised scrolling vines and foliage, set against small-scale, interlocking rosette sprays, the decorative repertoire and shape in tune with Herati metal creations ascribed to the 15th-century International Timurid Style, mounted on a metal stand, 16.5cm high including the stand. Provenance: London Private Collection since the 1980s.
