TWO PAIRS OF INDIAN BRASS STIRRUPS WITH PARROTS AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Northern India, second half 19th century Comprising a pair of stirrups of drop-like shape, with a pierced and crenelated square footrest in the centre, and pairs of parrots regardant on the upper outer section of the curved shanks next to the belt strap hoop, the exterior of the shanks incised and ring-punched, 15.5cm x 11cm; and another pair, plainer in style, of typical rounded, arched shape, with a wide, oval footrest and pairs of parrots' heads set back to back at the top next to the rectangular belt strap hoop, 11cm x 12cm.
