A CARVED WHITE HARDSTONE PISTOL-GRIP DAGGER HILT AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Northern India, 18th - 19th century Carved in the round, possibly made of calcite or a white quartz with brownish inclusions, designed with a typical pistol-grip rounded pommel at the top and symmetric upward-turned quillons on the base, decorated throughout with traditional floral motifs and dense foliage reminiscent of Mughal 17th and 18th-century examples, 11.5cm x 5cm.
