A TRADITIONAL SIDE-BLOWN BAMBOO FLUTE (BANSURI) AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Possibly Nepal or Orissa, North-Eastern India, 20th century The side-blown flute made from a single hollow shaft of dark-stained bamboo, pierced with six finger holes and a blow hole on the opposite side, embellished at both ends with brass plaques with applied brass wire fretwork bands with braids, half-roundels and scalloped designs reminiscent of Orissan Dhokra artworks, 68.5cm long.
