TWO BRONZE MINIATURE ICONS OF THE HINDU ELEPHANT GOD, GANESHA AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON India, 18th and 19th century Each cast in the round, resting on a square pedestal, presenting the murti of Ganesha, the elephant-headed Hindu God known as the Remover of Obstacles, the first example showing a four-armed Ganesha on his vahana (vehicle), Mushaka the mouse, holding his typical attributes, a noose, an axe, his broken tusk and a bowl of his favourite treats, laddoos, 9.2cm high; the latter similar but presenting the deity in a seated position, 7.1cm high.
