SEVEN INDIAN STEEL AND BRASS WORKING TOOLS AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON India, 18th century and later Comprising two small-scale steel tweezers, possibly used by jewellers or blacksmiths, the longest 14cm; a portable powder container, possibly for lime paste or other ground minerals, of cylindrical shape, with a hinged lid and a chainlet attached to the accompanying measuring spoon, the container 10.8cm long; and four different styles of prongs, two featuring single-edged crescentic blades at the end of one of the narrow handles, one made of brass and incised with chevron patterns, and another decorated with silver koftgari inlay with a variety of geometric fretwork bands, gridwork, and vegetal motifs around the handles and head, the longest 36cm.

WILLY DARO (Belgium, active between the 1950s and 1990s). Table lamp, ca. 1980. Agate, brushed steel and brass. Signed. Measurements: 42 x 28 x 28 x 70 cm (with shade); 25 x 25 x 70 cm (without shade). Belgian designer Willy Daro gives us a lamp with clean and pure lines. The interior of the shaft, worked in gilded brass, has carved agate structures, bubbling and evanescent, contained in concentric circles. The screen, for its part, stands out for its sobriety and the elegance of the black color used. Unfortunately, little biographical information is known about the Belgian designer Willy Daro. We know that, during the 50s and 70s, he worked in the field of design and lighting. Owner of Les Nouveaux Ateliers, Willy Daro worked in Brussels from 1960 to 1987. His pieces are elegant and full of movement, and he often used agate as the dramatic focal point, a very fashionable stone during the 1960s.

Ruby Anemic (born 1975 Berlin, lives and works there) Untitled Object arranged as a flower from four stainless steel brass knuckles, originally mounted behind glass in a white object box frame, 2007. Signed, dated and numbered 1/8 on the reverse. In this work, Anemic subtly combines different paradoxical associations - the violence in the brass knuckles with beauty and nature in the flower motif - by removing the objects from their original functions and contexts and placing them in a new context. This places Anemic in the tradition of the Dadaists and Surrealists - Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray and Meret Oppheim, but also Banksy. Anemic, who originally studied communication design from 1999-2005, works astutely and conceptually in the fields of sculpture, painting, photography and design. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions since 2003 and his works are included in a number of important international collections such as the Daimler Collection of Contemporary Art and the Musée Jenisch in Vevey. 54.8 cm x 54.8 cm x 4.5 cm.
