Exceptional cathedral chest Germany, 15th CENTURY Height: 77 cm; Length:147 cm; Depth:58 cm Rare Gothic cathedral chest with domed lid featuring a wooden core of oak mesh. All sides are fully iron-braced and reinforced with wide studded bands, providing a beautiful and sober ornament to the whole. The wrought-iron side handles have a ring at the end, held in place by two movable rods. On the front, a central hasp lock is framed by two locks fitted with Gothic-era padlocks.
