Two small holes in the sky upper left. Classic view of Dresden in spring-like freshness and with slightly moving cloudy sky. Panoramic view of the old town across the Augustus Bridge from the dome of the Frauenkirche via the Zeughaus, Hofkirche and Hausmannsturm of the palace to the opening of Theaterplatz. Panoramic view of the famous skyline of Dresden. Oil on canvas, 1920ies. Signed bottom left. In ornamental frame. A bit dirty and rubbed. Two small holes in the left part of the sky.

Artist's information: real name Friedrich Albert Zeh, German landscape painter and illustrator (1834 Dresden to 1865 Dresden), briefly attended the building school in Dresden, from 1849 studied at the academy in Dresden, 1853-59 pupil in Ludwig Richter's landscape studio, from 1860 mainly active as an illustrator and further collaboration with Ludwig Richter, source: Thieme-Becker.

After Louis Joseph Masquelier (1741-1811) - Hauts de Seine - Meudon - Château de Bellevue, View of Château de Bellevue from the Glacière. Etching on watermarked laid paper. 32.5 x 51 cm. 18th century circa 1780. Slight oxidation and annotation in pencil. Château de Bellevue was built in 1749 by the Marquise de Pompadour, favorite of Louis XV. Its name refers to the superb panorama of western Paris visible from the property. Looted during the French Revolution, the château was destroyed in the early 19th century.
