Small jug, China, Five Dynasties/ Song Dynasty. Very light stoneware body, dark brown, thick, opaque glaze, leaving an area free above the stand ring. Bellied shape, short curved spout, two molded loops on the shoulder of the vessel, molded handle. Minor retouch to the spout rim. Minimal chipping to the rim. Otherwise in very good condition. Of conical form, molded to the interior with a twin fish emerging from crashing waves, covered in a Qingbai glaze suffused with a dense network of crackles safe for the upper rim and base. The base with a later added, hand painted, inscription. Provenance: French trade. Condition: Good condition with old wear, firing flaws including dark spots, a small chip and a hairline to the upper rim, with possible touchups. Weight: 226 g Dimensions: Diameter 16.7 cm

The body carved with vertical lobes rising to the base of the trumpet neck, further incised with lines along the handle and surmounted by a small loop. Covered overall with a transparent pale aqua glaze darkening in the recesses. Provenance: German private collection. Condition: Good condition with minor wear, a small chip to the upper rim, and firing flaws including uneven glazing, crackling of the glaze, small firing cracks, and minor kiln grit. Two covered in pale celadon glazes, one with unglazed rim revealing the buff brown ware. The third partly covered in a thin gray glaze. Provenance: French trade. Condition: Overall good condition with some wear and firing flaws. One with few small chips to rims, another with a hairline to the upper rim, and the last with a repair and touchups to one side as well as soil encrustations.
