Josef KULICKA (1933-2023) Hlava III Oil on cardboard, inscribed, signed and dated 1963 on the verso 40 x 29.5 cm, Frame: 41.5 x 31 cm osef Kulicka, whose artist's name was "Boulette", studied medicine, but was accepted into the Czechoslovak Association of Visual Artists as an autodidact in 1965. Various exhibitions followed, and in 1969 he was a founding member of the artist group MJ, Olomouc. In 1968 he emigrated to Switzerland and worked as a doctor. Numerous exhibitions followed here, too, such as in the Kunsthalle Bern. His works can be found in many private collections, but also in museums such as the Olomouc Art Museum.

From the "Insert Coin" exhibition at La Monnaie de Paris A cocktail arcade terminal from the 1978 game Space Invaders. Original model by Midway MFG, with green cellophane strips on the screen to create color. This game was one of the first shoot'em ups in history, and left its mark on a whole generation of gamers. Its influence is unprecedented, thanks to a score-saving system. Several games were developed from Space Invaders, including Defender, Galaxian and Aero Fighters. In popular culture, many series use Space Invaders as a backdrop, and the game's aliens have become a well-known video game icon, inspiring the street artist Invader in his mosaics.
