Germany, 2nd GM. MARS 100 paramilitary training air rifle "VENUS-WAFFENWERK ZELLA-MEHLIS (GERMANY)". Cal. 4.4 mm. All metal parts with gray patina and minor traces of oxidation. Manufacturer's markings, very worn and partially legible, on the top of the barrel "MARS 100" and on the left side of the breech housing "VENUS-WAFFENWERK ZELLA-MEHLIS (GERMANY)". Round barrel with sight and rear sight. Long stock with handguard. Shot is loaded from the top of the barrel & handguard, by means of a sliding trapdoor. Non-functional rifle (no pressure), to be overhauled, mechanism not locked. 99.5 cm (barrel approx. 48 cm). (Rifle not current, breech does not lock (not enough travel), safety lever blocked, trigger guard front fixing screw missing, grenadier fixing pin missing, shoe tree not reported to model (here from model 98k), small crack in wood behind safety lever.
