Beautiful and rare ersatz blue-gray terrycloth uniform of Lieutenant "de CHAPANAY" of the 21st Dragon. - Jacket with stand-up collar fastened with seven silver-tone metal half-button studs, four waffle-pleated pockets, patch breast pockets with accolade flaps, and gusseted bottom pockets with straight flaps. Black wool collar tabs embroidered with the number "21" and white soutaches. Lieutenant's rank in flat silver passementerie at the bottom of each sleeve. On the left breast, two sewn-on reminder ribbons including "croix de guerre" and "médaille des blessés". On the upper left sleeve, seven silver-plated chevrons of seniority for 48 months at the front, and a chevron for a wound on the upper right sleeve. Inner lining in blue-gray woven sateen with tailor label "The Neumarket tailors in Paris" and tailor nominette in left inner pocket handwritten "Lt de Chapanay" and dated "17-9-1917". - Blue-gray terry ersatz breeches with blue cavalry piping. Brown resin buttons marked "The Neumarket Tailors Paris" and rear martingale nominative "Mr Lt de Chapanay" and dated "29-1-18". Rare worn set, in its original condition, never before seen in a collection. (Wear and minor accidents. Good condition).
