Description

France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Model 1873 regulation revolver from the Manufacture d'Armes de St Étienne, 1890 and a model 1876 ham holster. Cal. 11 mm. 6 shots. Serial no. "F 84665". All metal parts with stained gray patina and traces of oxidation. All parts to the same N°. Markings on barrel "Mle 1873" and on frame "Mre d'Armes de St Étienne", very worn, partly legible. The barrel is dated "S. 1890" and bears the control marks "R" in a circle for the MAS director (Colonel Robert 1882 to 1891) and "C" in a circle for the principal controller. The barrel bears the crowned "E" proof mark. Checkered walnut stock plates. It is stamped "M" above the right-hand grip plate, indicating a return to the factory for overhaul or parts change. Functional single- and double-action mechanism with two clear, play-free cocking notches. Inside of barrel dirty and oxidized. Complete. 24 cm (barrel 11.4 cm). (As is). Ham holster model 1876, for revolvers models 1873 and 1874. Black patent leather for officer. Marking inscribed in the flap "18 H N II". Complete with suspension strap with cast brass adjustment buckle decorated with foliage frieze (?). (Wear and tear, suspension strap probably attached. Fairly good condition.)
