France, 2nd World War. Historical memories of Brigadier General Paul CIAVALDINI (1882-1965), appointed Brigadier General in 1939. His decorations, including : - Order of the Legion of Honor. Commander's Cross IIIème République (1870-1940). Enameled gilt metal. Complete with tie. Accidents to the white enamel of the tips, the blue of the centers and the green of the foliage. It comes in a burgundy leather-wrapped box, the lid inscribed "LEGION D'HONNEUR COMMANDEUR" in gilded brass, with no maker's mark. (As is). 9.2 x 6.2 cm. - Officer's star of the Legion of Honor. Enameled vermeil, luxury model, boar's head hallmark, gold centers. Complete with ribbon and rosette. Missing the center of the recto, accidents to the white enamel of the points, the blue of the center and the green of the foliage. (As is). 6 x 4.3 cm. - Set of 3 decorations presented in a white lacquered wooden hinged frame, including Étoile de chevalier de la légion d'honneur IIIème République, enameled silver (damaged), boar's head hallmark, gold centers, complete with ribbon. croix de guerre 1914-17, bronze complete with ribbon and silver bronze star for a citation in the order of the division. Medal for the Moroccan campaign (1909) by Lemaire, silver, complete with ribbon and "Morocco" bar. Frame size 21 x 23 cm (as is). - Brass bar of 7 medals in reduction, including Croix de Guerre 1914-18 in bronze with ribbon and 3 bronze palms, Grande Guerre 1914-1918 commemorative medal in bronze with ribbon, 1939-45 commemorative medal in bronze with ribbon, Morocco medal in silver bronze with ribbon, Verdun commemorative medal in bronze with ribbon, La Marne commemorative medal in bronze with ribbon, Rhineland and Rhur veterans' federation medal with ribbon. (Good condition). - Croix de guerre 1914-15, bronze. Complete with ribbon and 3 bronze palms for 3 commendations (good condition). - Croix de guerre 1914-17, bronze. Complete with ribbon and 1 bronze star for a citation in the order of the regiment. Worn ribbon. (Fairly good condition). - 2 commemorative medals for the 26th and 27th "BAL DES X", 1904 and 1905. Gilt brass, one comes with worn ribbon. (Fairly good condition). - War wounded medal. Enameled gilt bronze. Complete with ribbon.
