Souvenir of Countess Marie-Anne WALEWSKA (1823-1912), Imperial House of France and Bonaparte family. - Small hand-embroidered muslin tie. - Fragment of underskirt lace ribbon. (Patina of age. Good condition). Provenance: Madame DUSSERT-BARRES, descendant of Madame BARRES, 1st chambermaid to the Countess. Three handwritten letters from Mr. DUSSERT-BARRES, dated 1968, residing at 7 place Carnot in Tournon sur Rhône (Dept 07) and mentioning his memories. Note: Countess Marie-Anne WALEWSKA (1823-1912), first lady-in-waiting to Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. Daughter of Count Zanobi di Ricci and Isabelle Poniatowski-Luci (illegitimate daughter of Stanislas Poniatowski, nephew of the last King of Poland), she married Alexandre Colonna Walewski in 1846, natural son of Marie Walewska and Napoleon I and an influential politician of the Second Empire.
