Description

France, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848). Model 1831 infantry sword, privately made by "TALABOT PARIS", with the same serial number. Cast brass mount with 26 grooves. Stained white two-edged carp-tongue blade with triangular flat at the heel, with "TALABOT PARIS" maker's marks and inverted spangled "N" in an oval. The hilt is stamped "1490" and stamped "N" inverted star in an oval. Natural buffalo tie. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings, the trigger guard with the same "1490" serial number and the leather stamped with the "MANCEAUX A PARIS" maker's mark. 63.8 cm (blade 48.5 cm). (Wear and minor wear. Fairly good condition).
