Description

France, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848). Model 1831 infantry sword, privately made by "PIHET FRERES" in Châtellerault. Cast brass mount with 26 grooves. Stained white blade with two carp-tongue cutting edges and triangular flattened heel, stamped and marked "Pihet Frères" on one side and "Châtellerault 1833" on the other. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings, trigger guard and leather stamped with "GIRARD LOUIS CHATELLERAULT" maker's mark. 63.8 cm (Blade 49 cm). (Wear and tear, traces of cleaning on the blade. Fairly good condition.)
