France, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848). Sabre de bord modèle 1833 dit "cuillère à pot", by Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault, 1842. Mounting with shell guard and steel flank spindle in its original black lacquer. Scarlet wool tie. Low-curvature blade with hollow front and flat back, engraved with the vertical anchor on both sides (very worn). Marked on the back of the blade "Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault septembre 1842" and stamped on the heel with an underspangled "G" and a cursive "B" for the reviser Joseph Ambroise BISCH. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings. In original condition, never in collection. 82 cm (Blade 68 cm). (Wear and patina from use, frame oxidized with rust bloom in places, blade with small gray patina, stained and oxidized with rust bloom. Fairly good condition).
