France, 2nd Restoration (1815-1830). Infantry officer's sword model 1816, without scabbard. Gilt cast brass mounting (remains). Smooth spherical pommel. Joint arch chased with foliage in the middle section. Brass filigree spindle. Quillon with foliate knob. Kidney-shaped keyboard adorned with a central medallion stamped with a flaming pomegranate, between olive branches. Counter-keyboard reduced and raised. Tie missing. Three-edged blade, stained in places, one-third blued and gold, chased with floral motifs and trophies of arms. 104 cm (blade 90 cm). (Slight play between blade tang and mount, blade with small surface oxidation rust bloom, in its original state, never in collection, unusual model. Fairly good condition.)
