Description
France, 1st Empire (1804-1814). Flintlock rifle model 1777 corrected AN9 from the Manufacture Royale de Saint Étienne, the wood converted to hunting. Cal. 17.5 cm. All metal parts with stained gray patina. Flintlock lock model 1777 corrected AN9, beautifully marked "Manufacture Royale de St Étienne" and hallmarked with two "Cs" in a circle. Cast brass bail. Barrel stamped with "B 1814" and "P" in cursive under a star, and another illegible stamp. Tailstock marked "M 1777". Stamped steel fittings. Original long-barrel walnut stock, converted to hunting (thinned and modified in places), stamped "TULY" and stamped "B" in cursive under the crown, the boxwood badge and pastille are visible. Rod missing. Good working mechanism, with two clean, play-free cocking notches. 152 cm (barrel 113.5 cm). (Rifle in its uncovered condition, in its regulation length, to be cleaned. Fairly good condition).
