France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Officer's revolver with central percussion "FAGNUS-MAQUAIRE" system, made by Manufacture Française d'Armes de Saint-Étienne. Cal. 8 mm. 6 shots. Serial no. 19511. All metal parts finished in white polish with minor traces of oxidation. Fluted barrel, rifled, maker's mark on the upper side "MRE FSE D'ARMES ST ETIENNE", the lower side, on the left-hand side, is marked "ACIER FONDU" and numbered "19511". Proof stamp of the Manufacture Française d'Armes de Saint-Étienne (stamp affixed between 1890 and 1920) and "D" control stamp under star affixed around the barrel chambers on the loading side. On the left-hand side, the mechanism's cover plate is removable, opening by means of a laterally placed pedal. Retractable trigger. Finely checkered walnut stock plates and cap without stock ring. Functional single- and double-action mechanism, with a clean, play-free cocking notch. Clean barrel interior with good scratches. Complete. 24.5 cm (barrel 12 cm). (Uncommon, cleaned gun, certainly nickel-plated originally, fine action, good condition). Weapon classified in category "D" of decree no. 2023-557 of July 3, 2023, free to acquire and hold.
