All metal parts in original lightened finish. Octagonal damascus barrel, slightly flared at the muzzle, dated "MR 1847" and stamped "* D *" in a polygon for controller Louis DOMBRET, "* L *" in a polygon for controller François LELONG and "D" under crown for Jean-Baptiste DOMBRE (?). It bears a rear sight and a sight attached to the breech. It is rifled with forty-eight "hair" stripes. Flat-bodied, elongated rear lock signed "Manufacture de Châtellerault" and stamped "F" for Louis-Joseph FAVARCQ, controller of locks at the factory from 1837 to 1849. Round-bodied hammer. White-finish steel fittings. Walnut stock, finely checkered and well stamped with "D" cursive under star, finger rest trigger guard and screw cap for accessory housing. Steel ramrod with brass tip. Functional mechanism with two clear, play-free cocking notches. The inside of the barrel is clean with good scratches. Complete. 36.8 cm (barrel 20 cm). (Good condition).
