ANDREA ANASTASIO (Rome, 1961) for Artemide Floor lamp "Giocasta". Metal and glass. Measurements: 222 x 63 x 35 cm; 32,5 cm (base diameter). The originality and freshness of the Giocasta lamps derive from the Italian designer's unorthodox training and unique life journey. After completing his studies in philosophy, Andrea Anastasio embarked on a cultural path that led him to cooperate in projects of cataloguing Islamic architecture in India, research on innovation in traditional craft techniques, collaborations with practical architects, publishers and museums. Fascinated by the study of the poetics of conceptual art and its possible convergences with industrial design, he designs furniture and objects for Italian companies that play a leading role on the international scene. His research focuses on the manipulation of objects, consumer goods and domestic materials to generate creative contagions between disparate languages.
