JOUHANDEAU (Marcel): Petit bestaire. With eight color etchings by Marie LAURENCIN. Paris, NRF, 1944. One volume. 15.5 by 25 cm. 75 pages. Full contemporary raspberry morocco, smooth spine, covers and spine preserved, all edges gilt, wide raspberry inner frame, with two gilt fillets, and a green morocco frame, to pale blue suede endpapers. Raspberry half-maroquin jacket with band, and lined slipcase. Top board decorated with a cold gold, black and green oeser decoration, using the illustration on page 63. Binding signed Françoise OLIVIER-LEVY. Binding in perfect condition (unfortunate traces of a label on the slipcase, the only mentionable defect). Slight discharges on the white pages opposite the etchings. A very delicate copy...

Edition of 358 copies on Arches vellum; no. 2, with two suites of copperplates on Japon Hosho paper (final state and breakdown into two plates each). A very fine copy. (very slight light spotting on some of the engravings in the suites).
