SIGURD RESSELL (Meldal, Norway, 1920- Møre og Romsdal, Norway) for VATNE. Pair of Falcon chairs with stool, Norway, 1970s. Wooden structure and leather upholstery. Measurements: 57 x 57 x 39 cm. Designed by Ressell in 1974, the Falcon armchair is his most iconic creation and is characterized by its open forms, its solid and refined structure, the back and seat upholstery and the diagonal uprights and crosspieces that support the body. Born in Norway in 1920, Sigurd Ressell began his career when one of his drawings was praised by Niels Vodder, a master furniture designer who worked in collaboration with Finn Juhl. Later, a prototype would emerge from that drawing, kick-starting the young Swedish designer's career. In 1958, his SR 600 model won a prize at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition. Today, his most iconic design is the Falcon chair, produced by the Norwegian firm Vatne, a best-selling chair in Europe for more than thirty years.

Measurements: 63 x 49 x 76 cm. The Reverse chair is an iconic creation designed by Andrea Branzi for Cassina of Italy. The Reverse armchairs are made with solid bent beech wood and a gray lacquered aluminum frame. With their fantastic sculptural armrests, they are an eye-catcher in any home. Andrea Branzi, architect and designer, graduated in Florence in 1967, lives and works in Milan. From 1964 to 1974 he was a partner of Archizoom Associati, protagonists of the Florentine radical movement, and one of the most respected voices of the radical architecture movement. A prominent member of the Alchimia studio, founded in 1976, from 1981 he participated in the experience of the Memphis group. In 1982, Branzi opened his own studio to dedicate himself to architecture, urban planning, interior design and industrial design. In 1983 he was one of the founders of the Domus Academy in Milan, the first international school specializing in industrial design, design management and fashion. Branzi has collaborated with several Italian architectural magazines, such as Interni, Domus, Casabella and MODO. In 1994 he received the ADI Compasso d'Oro Lifetime Achievement Award.

Maurice Prentice Burke (1921-2010) for Arkana Model 115 chair, metal structure and black-dyed polypropylene shell with fabric upholstered cushion. Edition mark on the seat. Measurements: 79 x 50 x 50 cm Maurice Burke, noted for his innovation in 20th century industrial design, is recognized for his contributions to Arkana. His creations, the Burke 115 chairs and the 116 armchairs, have become icons of the Star Trek series. Often confused with Eero Saarinen, whose tulip chairs influenced his work, Burke left his own mark on furniture design. Star Trek designers adapted his 115 and 116 models, adding distinctive elements such as a black headrest and a backrest with beveled finishes. Although these chairs grace most episodes of The Original Series, their presence is more sporadic in later series such as The Next Generation, Enterprise, and Discovery, and they have had a prominent role in the recent Strange New Worlds Enterprise.
