DENMARK 1922 Large oval-shaped 925 hammered silver centerpiece resting on a stepped pedestal molded with a string of pearls. The bowl is bordered by a hemstitched rim enhanced around the edges by four mobile rings supporting four bunches of fruit. Model by Georg Jensen circa 1920, featured in HOLLOWARE The Silver Fund Collection GEORG JENSEN, page 160. Hallmarked in all letters IMPORTE DU DANEMARK, hallmarked with the silversmith's initials and in all letters in an oval. Weight: 5.6 kg; Length: 40.5 cm - Width: 27.5 cm According to family tradition, this bowl was presented to French President Gaston DOUMERGUE in 1924.
