A Rifle 98, Amberg, 1917 Cal. 8x57JS, SN. 1574m, matching numbers. Rough barrel, length 73 cm. Five-shot. Lange sights, scaled 4 - 20. "Krone / Amberg / 1917" on the receiver head, "Gew. 98." on the guide on the left. Various imperial acceptance marks. Patchbox pitted, without finish, original finish on barrel. Light wooden half stock, wear marks, marked "EWB" on right side of butt stock. One sling swivel. Cleaning rod missing. Total length 125 cm.
