A socket bayonet, similar to Berdan M 1870, probably Russian Square, hollow ground blade (pitted in places). Bayonet arm of oval cross-section. Socket (pitted) with movable ring. Beautifully preserved, old leather scabbard of square cross-section, brass mountings, drop-shaped suspension knob. Unmarked. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Length 61 cm. Kiesling no. 355. Condition: II - III

Cohan Signed Photograph American playwright, songwriter, and actor (1878-1942), widely regarded as the father of American musical comedy, who takes a place among the most beloved entertainers of his era. Among his scores of hits are such standards as 'You're a Grand Old Flag,' 'Give My Regards to Broadway,' and 'Over There.' Vintage glossy 11 x 14 photo of an artist's portrait of Cohan, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Dan Mahoney, with affectionate regards, Sincerely, George M.” In very good condition, with some tape to the upper edges, overall creasing, and a heavier crease to the upper right corner.
