Nagant Gendarmerie Pistol Mod. 1877 Cal. .380ShortCFL, SN. 1240, matching numbers. Almost bright barrels, length 140 mm. Double-barreled. The barrel root on the left marked "CAL. .380 C", serial number and Belgian proof mark. The entire weapon reworked and newly blued, cocks and bolt plum-colored. Single trigger for both cocks. Probably newly made walnut grip panels with fine chequering. Tang ring. Total length 30 cm. Introduced to the gendarmerie in Belgium in 1877, partly in service until 1901. Only about 2000 made.
