Early nineteenth-century charcoal sketch on the spine of the last plate and on the flyleaf. Bound in full contemporary calf, boards preserved, corners and spine restored, 6-rib spine restored with part of the ornaments preserved in the boxes, as well as the red morocco title-piece "Arch de Davil" Fowler 299. Rare work given by d'Aviler, who here attempts a first adaptation of an Italian work, before finding success with his augmented version of Vignole. Scamozzi, however, remained in the shadow of Palladio and Vignole.
