Description

Some foxing, some restorations to frontispiece. Original Prussian blue boards, boards rubbed, spine and corners restored. Larrouy "Although its title is inspired by that of Fréart de Chambray's Parallèle, this collection breaks with the classical tradition by offering a varied choice of solutions for each order, rather than a fixed rule. Designed and engraved by Charles Normand, Prix de Rome in 1792, who was prevented from traveling to Italy by political events. We owe this prolific author several illustrated architectural collections, such as Recueil varié de Plans et Façades, as well as the illustrations for Carême's pastry collections, which featured sweet creations worthy of the greatest builders. See also numbers 84, 215, 219, 237, 247.
