[plates relating to the discovered mosaic [sic]], 6pl. of which 1 enhanced, with gray gouache background, and another partially enhanced (a total of 91pl. mostly executed in aquatint). Modest condition, with mainly marginal spotting and foxing affecting the plates only slightly, and light angular spotting more marked on the text leaves. Contemporary boards, spine and corners rebound in green paper. Important work surveying the ruins of Pompeii, a site that has always made a strong impression on visitors to the Grand Tour.
