First part alone of this extraordinary course in architecture, beginning with the great classics (ancient and modern orders), followed by decorative elements (doors, niches, ironwork, fireplaces, etc.), then a treatise on landscaping and numerous plans, sections and elevations of buildings, including those by Michelangelo. A standard for the teaching of classical architecture, it was reprinted many times over the course of a century. The second part, missing here, is a dictionary of architectural terms.
