Provenance: an 18th-century owner has drawn up a list of Bosse's works entitled "autres ouvrages de Bosse qui se vendoient à Paris chez Pierre Aubuyn libraire", with prices; cites the Mariette sale of 1775, He signs twice, but his signature is illegible.Bosse was one of the essential writers and engravers of the mid-17th century. His work covers engraving and etching as well as perspective, architecture and lithotomy.
